VALLEY VIEW, Texas — The dazed residents of a north Texas county sifted through their mangled homes on May 26, 2024, after a powerful tornado tore through the area the night before, leaving seven people dead and more than 60 injured.
Heartbreaking Nightmare
The tornado, which struck without warning, ripped through the small town of Valley View, destroying homes, businesses, and infrastructure. The storm's fury left a trail of broken glass, twisted metal, and uprooted trees in its wake.
Emergency responders worked tirelessly to clear debris, search for survivors, and provide medical assistance to the injured. The local fire department reported that over 100 structures were completely destroyed, including a gas station where dozens of people sought shelter during the storm.
