Chicago To Host 2024 Democratic National Convention
Convention to be held at United Center
Delegates from all 50 states and U.S. territories to attend
The Democratic National Committee announced today that Chicago will host the 2024 Democratic National Convention at the United Center from July 15-18, 2024.
The convention will be the first major political event to be held in Chicago since the 1968 Democratic National Convention, which was marred by violence and protests.
The Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison said that Chicago was chosen to host the convention because of its "rich history, diverse population, and commitment to progressive values."
"Chicago is a city that represents the best of America," Harrison said. "It is a city of immigrants, of working people, and of families. It is a city that is committed to justice and equality.".
The Democratic National Convention is a presidential nominating convention in which delegates of the United States Democratic Party will select the party's nominee for president of the United States in the 2024 United States presidential election.
At the 2024 Democratic National Convention in August, delegates from all 50 states and U.S. territories will convene in Chicago to select the party's presidential and vice presidential nominees.
